The Long
Forgotten Castle
A long forgotten castle stood on a long forgotten hill,
Surrounded by long forgotten waters and long forgotten mills.
The castle had dungeons with no windows to see rain,
Where traitors entered to be brutally slain.
It had studies with books that were never read,
And great wooden rafters stretched far up ahead.
Extinguished oil lamps filled every corridor,
Lined with fine carpets fit for the ambassador.
There was a great kitchen which was fine china laden,
Where chefs and cooks served the fine maidens.
It was a castle made of rock and chunks of stone,
Where noises echoed off the walls even with the faintest groan.
There was a massive great hall with pillars of feldspar,
And stained glass skylights that at night reflected the bright stars.
And even in its majesty it was a long forgotten castle,
Standing alone with the winds being its only hassle.
It seems foolish that a brilliant piece of history could be so long forgotten,
Obviously it can be blamed on the rich who have been too spoiled rotten.
But it will still be a castle with many corridors and rooms,
And it holds many secrets standing there as it looms.
